It is not only responsible for monitoring our breathing, blood pressure and heart, it is the most sophisticated biological computer in the known universe and you have one inside your head about the size of your fist.
Perhaps the most interesting and yet totally crazy aspect of our relationship with our own brain is that we all have one, it can literally manifest miracles before our eyes and yet we all take it completely for granted. Actually, 99.999% of human beings treat their shoes better than they do their brain. How?
Image the scene....
You are sitting in your dinning room talking with some friends or family when a complete stranger walks into the room carrying the garbage bin from outside your back door. He proceeds to empty the garbage onto the floor and all over your shoes and legs. The pace is a mess and you are covered in garbage.
Would you just sit here and let him do that to you and to your home? Would you notice the incident but decide that it was unimportant and carry on with your conversation? Of course you wouldn't. You would probably become very angry and throw him out of your house. You would certainly want to clear the rubbish up and probably clean your shoes before doing anything else.
So what's my point?
