Goals are nothing more than a desired outcome and outcomes are simply a state of achievement; a result or a place that we want to be at some stage in the future.
Our biggest challenge lies not in our skill in actually doing the basic things necessary to get what we want, but in our ability to manage ourselves in actually doing them regularly and consistently.
Some people call it self-discipline but what is the catalyst? Actually it is the way that we run our own brain from moment to moment ... or how we manage our thinking, feelings and actions.
The primary reason why most people don't get more of what they want from life is that they simply have not learned how to match their thinking, emotions and actions with what it is that they want to attract. Effective goal setting provides us with a template for achievement because, when done properly, it becomes the blueprint for what we want, what we have to do and how we have to feel to do it.
